Arguably one of Kubrick’s best scenes ever—-the impish Lord Bullingdon fumbling with a pistol.

The dialogue:

'Lord Bullingdon cock your pistol ...and prepare to fire.'

Lord Bullingdon: Sir Richard, this pistol must be faulty. 
I must have another one.

Sir Richard: I'm sorry, Lord Bullingdon, but you must 
first stand your ground and allow Mr.  Lyndon his turn 
to fire.

Sir Richard: Your pistol has fired, and that counts as 
your shot.

Sir Richard: Mr. Lyndon, are the rules of firing clear
 to you?

Redmond Barry: Yes.

Sir Richard: Lord Bullingdon...are you ready to 
receive Mr. Lyndon's fire?

Lord Bullingdon: Yes.

Sir Richard: Very well, then, Mr. Lyndon cock your
 pistol and prepare to fire.

Sir Richard: Are you ready, Lord Bullingdon?

Sir Richard: Is your pistol cocked, Mr. Lyndon?

Redmond Barry: Yes.

Sir Richard: Then prepare to fire. One...two....

[Barry feels sorry for the mere child and fires

Sir Richard: Lord Bullingdon, in view of Mr. 
Lyndon having fired into  the ground do 
you now consider
 that you have received 
satisfaction?

Lord Bullingdon: I have not received 
satisfaction.

[Lord Bullingdon prepares to take another
 shot at Redmond.]


Sir Richard: Mr. Lyndon, are you ready?

Redmond Barry: Yes.

Sir Richard: Lord Bullingdon...cock your 
pistol and get ready to fire.
